lori has taken care of her mom for longer than i have been going to st. john's. i am not sure what june has, parkinsons, maybe,something like that anyway. she can not speak. i saw her at church last sunday, she did not look very good. her (june's) brother just passed away a couple of weeks. lori is quite strong in her faith...and tending her mother. she brings her mom in a wheel chair to church week in and week out. they used to go to church in Lancaster....about 30 years ago. lori is the quite the bell ringer...her whole family, i guess, rings. anyways they are both very strong in their faith. so for peace and comfort and healing for lori and her mom.

David had a growth on the side of the bridge of his nose. Years ago the Dr. froze it but it came back and it got a lot bigger... they took a piece and did a biopsy. It was cancer so he has to have surgery in January to get some more removed until they get it all. Prayers are appreciated. THANKS!

Mom had some foot pain for a few days and then it went into overdrive last Tuesday when she was diagnosed with gout. She's been on meds since then - over a week now - and has had some relief but it certainly hasn't cleared up. She has an awful time walking at all. On top of that the meds make her feel like crap... and she's fighting this cold / sinus infection thing... and she's going to be traveling back home to Cali on Sunday. (Or Monday, since she's going through Vegas, ha.) Thanks for praying.

All right... I'm finally asking for prayer. :) I've been dealing with this cold (or whatever it is) for 3 1/2 weeks now, and Grace has finally caught it. I feel really bad for her, but last night she finally got a good night's sleep so hopefully she's on the road to recovery. For me, it's not as bad a cold as I usually get, but still not very good to be hacking all night, during meetings and church, or most especially when I'm demonstrating a recipe in my unspecified business endeavor. I met a woman this weekend... about my age... with a 7 month old daughter. This woman was very quiet, very reserved, and as we talked she shared with me that she had just lost her husband.

Her husband of 9 years, active in the military, 39 years young, simply did not wake up one morning a few months ago. Cathy is left with no close family and to raise an infant who will never know her father. She is relocating soon to Ohio to be near her husband's family. Thank you for praying for her.

Years ago when Robert and I first met at Plaza Pharmacy, we worked with a pharmacist named Tran. Tran was one of the kindest men I think we worked with there ~ a really wonderful man.

Well, we were saddened today to hear that not only is Tran fighting colon cancer, but his 19yo son was killed by a car while riding his bike. Thanks for praying for Tran and his family

Well, Pop is having some health issues with his heart. He has been having some dizziness and at a follow-up appointment today it was determined that his heart isn't working properly. He had a double EKG and they found that the top part of his heart isn't beating as strongly as the bottom (the bottom's fine). He's wearing a 24-hour EKG for monitoring and will follow up with a cardiologist.

Georgia's friend Linda went through cancer treatment at the beginning of the year and has had a heart attack on Friday. Here's what Georgia wrote:

they rushed her into surgery, 100% blockage. and at that time was going to be in icu for a few days and then a week in the hosp to recover. i found out today that the doc's found "something" when they had her opened up. they (the family?? the docs??) are not releasing any other information until linda comes out of the induced coma she was put into after the surgery.

Grace is scheduled to have her cast removed on Thursday. They will re-x-ray the arm and hopefully all will be well and she can have her arm back. I'd appreciate prayers for her arm to heal completely, and for her to remain calm while they remove the cast. I'd also appreciate prayers for me, handling 3 kids during an office visit.

Grace also seems to be coming down with another cold. Fun.

My friend Lisa lives in soCal. Their house has been on the market for almost a year; in fact, they just took it off for awhile. The problem is that Russ is working in northern CA. He is able to come home and see his family here and there but it puts quite a strain on everything, as you an imagine. They've been living like this for more than a year now. Please pray that Russ can find work close to home, or that God will work something else out so they can be together again full-time. Thanks for praying.
